Gabion Wall Installation

I have just finished work grappling with galvanised Gabion Baskets and 10 tons of Granite, as a method for replacing a retaining wall.  I loved laying out the granite shapes to create a really modern finish. Not only is it much cheaper than a conventional wall, it is also easy to assemble. With some help from friends and family and a few cups of coffee the job was completed really quickly. Using the footings from the previous wall, I lent the baskets back by inserting slate under the front edge. The Helicoil’s from HyTen made it very easy joining the flat pack baskets together to create a flush edge and front facing.  The best bit about this system is that you can use all the old bricks from the wall to back fill at no extra cost.
