Cedar House Extension

cedar cladding 7Finishing and standing back from the walls of Cedar was a truly joyous moment. All the hard work and layers of insulation, timber, membrane, bricks and mortar are hidden, but I cannot think of any other material that evokes more emotion through it’s smell, colour’s and feel than Cedar. Okay maybe Oak.

The aluminium window frames, galvanised Lindab guttering and water goods really compliment the colour.  To make the colour last it has been protected with Osmo UV 420 Oil. The tops of the windows have lead strips to protect from the ingress of water and the bricks are soon to be covered in insulation and a sage green render.  Thanks to Nigel Clark for all his building expertise and hard work.

I look forward to working with this wood on smaller cabin/studio projects.
